An introduction to frame basketry and hedgerow materials

31st October and 14th November at Pettistree Village Hall, postcode IP13 0HS.

​Suitable for beginners or those with some experience, a two-day course introducing frame basketry. This appealing, ancient form of basket weaving celebrates the colours and textures of willow, and offers scope to bring in a variety of foraged materials. 

​

You'll learn basic skills in making oval and round hoops, shaping ribs, simple weaves, and how to find and prepare your foragings. Your choice of shape and materials will give your pieces their own unique character.

​

Jo gives hands-on help at all stages, with demonstrations of techniques, books and handouts to support your learning.

​

 Materials, tools, tea and coffee provided, bring your own lunch. Parking available at the hall.
